What is SAF?
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a drop-in replacement for conventional Jet A-1 kerosene, certified under ASTM D7566. Unlike fossil jet fuel, SAF is produced from renewable feedstocks and can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%.
The HEFA (Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids) process converts plant-based oils into jet-range hydrocarbons through catalytic hydrotreatment. The triglycerides in moringa oil are deoxygenated and isomerised to produce a synthetic paraffinic kerosene (SPK) that is chemically identical to fossil jet fuel.
Under current ASTM D7566 Annex 2, HEFA-SPK can be blended up to 50% with conventional jet fuel. MorFuels' moringa oil is particularly well-suited due to its high oleic acid fraction, low free fatty acid content, and exceptional oxidative stability - all critical parameters for efficient HEFA conversion.

The by-product of moringa seed oil extraction is a highly nutritious, high-protein livestock feed. Cold-pressed and dehulled moringa seed cake contains up to 60% crude protein, rivalling and exceeding soybean meal as a premium stock feed.
